In recent years the station here at K7ZSD has participated in several DX and domestic contests. The Pacific Northwest is not in a good geographical location to be competitive, so generally we compete regionally. Some of the domestic contests can be won from here with very good QSO rates, but the international contests, especially at this point in the solar cycle, can be slow and arduous. With the help of some great NW operators, we've made them an "event", being competitive, and having fun! The piece of pie in the photo above (K7JI pie), is an example of bring it on for the weekend. Many thanks to the folks in the photos below, who bring radios, computers, amplifiers, and food (pie), to Smoke Ranch for weekend fun. Thank you to all the operators everywhere for all the Q's, we'll see you in the coming contests.
